Microdermabrasion and
Chemical Peels
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a common skincare procedure that removes dead skin and debris from the upper layers of the dermis. The procedure is typically carried out using a wand tipped with a hard surface—usually diamond or crystal—to mechanically exfoliate the surface of the skin, manually removing unwanted contaminants.
Microdermabrasion promotes healthy skin by encouraging the production of new, healthy skin cells to replace those removed by the wand, giving the skin a smoother, younger look. Microdermabrasion clientscan see visible results after just one treatment. It is an effective procedure to treat issues with acne, pigmentary, hydration, and texture.
Microdermabrasion at The Vein Center and MedSpa
At The Vein Center and MedSpa, we use the DiamondMD diamond microdermabrasion system to ensure our clients get the best results possible. The DiamondMD system is tipped with diamond, not crystal, which cuts down on the inflammation, irritation, and overheating that can sometime occur with other mechanical exfoliation systems. We also offer the DiamondMD Hydro Plus microdermabrasion procedure, which combines microdermabrasion with a custom serum infusion designed to address a client’s specific skincare concerns.
What are Chemical Peels?
Chemical skin peels are among the most common and least-invasive skincare procedures ever performed. The skin peel process involves applying a thin layer of acid to the upper dermis to cause those layers to peel away, allowing the smoother, healthier lower layers to take over. Chemical peels are used to treat a range of skin problems, including texture, uneven skin tone, acne, sun damage, and overall rejuvenation.
Chemical Peels at The Vein Center and MedSpa
The Vein Center and MedSpa specializes in applying a range of light-to-medium depth chemical peels, including our SkinMedica Illuminize peel, Vitalize peel, and Rejuvenize peel – along with several others. After just a few peel sessions, clients can experience long-lasting, visible improvements to their skin. Each type of peel has different pre- and post-care routines, but most clients can expect some mild dry flakiness for a few days following your peel.
